Fascadale is on the north-west point of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Not far from the location where Adelphi are hoping to set up their new distillery. This gives the whisky a nice coastal character.
Nose: juicy overripe fruit, apple, pears and passionfruit, not rich though this nose is very clean, touch and peat and salt, slightly briny. With water sweeter, richer, candle wax?
Pallet: sharp lemon, little earthy and peaty, menthol, salt and honey. With water more muscular, such a beautiful texture, I’m standing by candle wax
Finish: peat announces itself, not a wallop but more than a hint, spicy and lingering. Ginger some nutmeg and a little earthy as well. With water much the same
Mark neat: 8.5 with water 8.5
Ive never had Clynelish before and this seems pretty good too me, nice coastal character, beautiful body on it. Very nice indeed
