Sigh in Enjoyment

AnCnoc is another one of those single malts that does not appear on my scope often. This is only the tenth that I try. This 24 years old from the Knockdhu distillery was launched at drinking strength in 2018.
Wonderfully dark, sweet and rich nose on peach, rum raisins, milk chocolate, caramel and honey. Hint of apricot pastry and blackberries. Quite a lot of sherry matured malt in the mix.
While the body is rather light, the taste makes up for it effortlessly. Lovely sweet notes of raisins, baked apples, peach, pineapple in butter, glühwein, cloves and nutmeg, liquorice, plums… it just keeps giving. It comes in waves and is delicious.
The finish is long, warm with lots of sherry and wood notes. A bitterness at the death, very satisfying.
I sigh in enjoyment. Around 130 EUR, which is very friendly priced for this top dram. Thanks, Carl!
