I tried this cask at a tasting in October 2015, where I truly got to know Armorik and basically fell in love with the whisky. It is with great pleasure that I return to this particular single cask, which can still be found in some places. Wonderfully candied nose with Sirop de Liège, honey, fresh mushruums (not an offnote!), red apples, cherries, sugared orange rind and chocolate cake, upholstered with some cloves and liquorice. It caresses the palate with more of the same, but joined by candied sugar. Midpalate it offers a surprisingly salty note, but the sweetness quickly takes back the reigns. Toffee emerges. Don’t you dare add water, now, for it absolutely does not need it. Elegant finish, wonderfully long, on cloves and Seville oranges. It leaves the mouth dry. This is one of the best I have tried from the Warenghem distillery in Lannion. Around 85 EUR. Recommended.
