Balblair 1995 Vintage (Swedish release)

Balblair Distillery was founded in 1790 and is one of the oldest active distilleries in Scotland. They have a number of vintage releases from 1965 and this release is from 1995.

Balblair 1995 is a single malt whisky with aromas from ananas, pears, green apples, coconut, fudge and vanilla. There is also some light hints of herbs and citrus. The Balblair has been laying on 2nd fill bourbon barrels no colors has been added.

This malt is exclusive for the Swedish market. There will only be 420 bottles released in Sweden and the price is about 65 pounds (750 sek).

Nose: Here comes summer! Lots of apple, vanilla, bourbon tones, herbs and dried hay

Taste: A really nice and pleasant dram with hints of citrus and a nice balance. It’s quite thick and oily.

Summary: This will be a great summer whisky if you have a chance to get here in Sweden as it only 420 bottles sold. I like the balance and that the whisky is quite mellow and dry. The dram sits for about 4-5 minutes and has a nice finish of apple, vanilla and toffee.
