Nose: Interesting. You can detect the Sherry but it's not overkill. There's a hint of oranges, raisins, toffee and spices.
Palate: Lemon, oranges and raisins.
Finish: Fruity and warm. Dry with spice late on.
Balance: The Sherry is ever-present without blasting everything else away, but... it all seems a little confused. There almost needs to be something to pull it all together.
Ben Nevis responds well to Sherry casks based on this. It's a very nice whisky indeed and going down a treat. It represents stunning value as well as just over £50 a bottle. A proper bargain!
