Nose: the scent is warm and soft. There's fructose sweetness (citrus and apples), as well as floral notes and a surprisingly delicate smokey undercurrent.
Palate: Citrus and orchard fruits on the attack, a fairly creamy whisky but a bit of cereal (maybe barley) edge. A hint of oak.
Body: Initially fairly smooth, comfortable to hold in the mouth. However this creaminess gives way as the dram develops and becomes a little harsh.
Finish: Finally the sort of smoke you would expect from an Islay whisky begins to force its way through; still not dominant, but a happy conclusion to a decent dram.
Overall, this is a good whisky showing signs of maturity beyond its years, and I certainly like the 'organic' concept behind it. I'd be interested to try the new organic releases and see how they compare.
