sample from a friend-
Nose: Fairly rich and buttery at first. Bitter-sweet caramel soaked in rum. Sweet and candied on Bailey's with a dash of orange oils. Hint of raisin jam. Perhaps even lightly burned honey. In the back are some echoes of the malty base. Great stuff so far. (with water) Just a drop or three, easy does it! More fine, sweet, and beautiful coffee. Fine sandalwood, and aged sweet cigar wrappers. Less rich, but no less lovely.
Palate: Lighter mouthfeel than I'd anticipated; I nearly expected to find a thick caramel coming from the glass. Less sweet as well and oak is in the middle of it. Coffee with chocolate flakes and a raspberry blended into the field. (with water) More coffee and milk chocolate, perhaps even some rum-balls. Surprisingly very light feel.
Finish: A return of sweet water playing into fine dark chocolate, a drop of coffee, and a fond welcome from mixed red berries. A pleasant transition. A very charming dram, with all the makings of a pour complex and enjoyable, factors that only cast the light mouthfeel into greater and more frustrating relief. If this were more substantial, it'd be excellent, so I'd give it a steady mark

Good to see you back, @numen! I have come to like these older Cragganmore bottlings over the years - they are so much more substantial than the distillery's core range bottlings. Sometimes you even hit a gem. Too bad that there are not too many around in the market.
