Famous Grouse The Black Grouse Alpha Edition

The Black Grouse Alpha Edition was truly a nice blended whisky. Little bit lacking in character like Larry Gopnik in the Coen brothers movie "A Serious Man".

Actually this is like a serious man's whisky. It doesn't give you too much to cheer about but it delivers you semi steady product. A good product for a blended whisky.

The Black Grouse Alpha Edition is black like a usual Coen brothers film but without the great humor like "A Serious Man".

Nose: Oak playing the main part with hints of sweet peat and toast and a nice delicate smoke buried deep in the back.

Taste: Sweet caramel kind of creamy toffee with some dryness and peat.

Finish: Too fast but fairly good. Oaky and sweet.

Balance: Lacks character and not the most consistent whisky but still fairly good. Conflicting, I know...dry but sweet, just like dark humor.
