The Nectar of the Daily Drams is a well known Belgian bottler. Two years ago, they launched this grain whisky, a 48 Year Old Girvan from 1964.
Wonderfully sweet nose on nougat, butterscotch, vanilla, pecan nuts and a note of passion fruit. Something that reminds me of varnish all the way in the back. Some wood shavings too. Wonderfully soft. After a few minutes, I get some praline chocolate.
Soft arrival, barely spiced, but honeysweet. Passion fruit and chocolate. Like a liqueur filled chocolate candy, but better. Some pepper, that emerges midpalate. I also get some liquorice and a hint of cinnamon.
The finish is medium long on quite some wood, but not disturbing in the least.
Very nice grain, as grain ought to be.
