Another Glen Grant from 1995, meaning we can be quite sure this is going to be good. This was bottled especially for this year’s Whisky Fair, but due to corona this was cancelled. But that does not mean we cannot enjoy it!
This is like an identical twin to the Glen Grant 1995 that I just tasted from Signatory. Again nicely fruity on banana with lots of vanilla and hints of stone fruit. Apricots pastry on a Sunday morning. Creamy honey. Boy, it’s almost impossible not to like this.
Quite oily on the palate. Honeysweet, my teeth almost fall out of my mouth. Banana, apricots and a tea spoon of orange juice. Then the wood kicks in with some pepper, liquorice and tannins. Midplate it turns a bit drying.
The finish is very long, but honeysweet. This is liquid candy.
It’s just a tad better than cask #88191 from Signatory, but I do not score with half points. Top whisky. Thx, Benny!
