First review so apologies in advance for the anti-climax! Far from an expert so I'll concentrate on the characteristics of the whisky that Im comfortable trying to get down..
Nose; Wow! This is unrivalled in my experiences so far. You could pour yourself a glass of this, sit for a couple of hours taking in the aromas and then just pour it back in the bottle..Dalwhinnie-esque with a tad less honey and the added complexity from the Sherry cask. Drop or two of water later and Vanilla along with the sublimely subtle-but-there sherry come to the fore. Outstanding, without a doubt the best whisky I've "nosed"..
Taste; Warms the proverbial cockles of the heart before you even have a chance to consider what's going on in there.. Vanilla again, spicey, really clean, again the presence of the sherry there but happy in the background and by no means overwhelming.
Finish; Smooth..nothing bad at all going on here, it's all good, just leaves you wanting to go back for more.
Balance; Everything works in perfect (well almost) harmony here. Some "Sherried" whiskies are for me too much like drinking a glass of sherry and not whisky- this whisky benefits from the subtle touches imparted by the Oloroso Casks but still very much has its own Highland Single Malt personality..
In summary, its a bit of a belter.

A very good first review, you should do some more. Plain speaking and un-pretentious. Bet my first one won't be as good! Well done.
