With 15 year old sherry cask whiskies it's all about the sherry and power. On the nose it's sherry with a hint of wet wood and perhaps a bit of varnish.
On its own you have more wood, sherry of course, I've been told that Turkish Delight is there but although I can sense sweetness this eludes me. Sweet and hot nuts like you get in pubs (or used too) is the finishing taste, with a lot of the flavours seem to dilute rather than being enhanced so try this more without adding water.
The finish is rich, sweet and creamy, lots of power and not one for the novice but well worth the 40 quid should you want something a bit different.
