- Batch: Sherry Butt #7157
This Glenrothes slept on a sherry butt for almost two decades. Possibly that was a first fill barrel, because the malt is almost the color of cola. It was bottled by Whiskybroker, the well-known Scottish bottler.
Hey! Plums, rye toast, horseskin, chewing tobacco, origin chocolate and a drop of wine vinegar. Walnuts and cuberdons. Freshly polished leather. The interior of a new car. What an intense nose.
Syrupy as cough syrup. And with the same dark sweetness. Nice and spicy at the same time on cinnamon, nutmeg and chili peppers. Fennel, licorice, anise – that's three times the same, that's how intense it is. Relatively drying, too. And less sweet than the nose promised. This is chocolate with dried pieces of fruit and quite a few nuts. Delicious.
In the dry, long aftertaste, another coin appears.
Oh, my, what a bomb. Unfortunately nowhere to be found.
