This is a bottle which i don't think many people know much about, it has been said it's an 15 year old unpeated expression distilled in the "Southern States of Australia". And Jim Murray stated “I could stick my nose in this glas all day!” In the 2013 Whisky Bible. For more info head here; www.uisgebeatha.org/antipodeanwhisky.html
Nose: Very floury as in cooking flour, candied fruit, banana, peach melba, mint jelly and sourdough, also its quite waxy. With Water a bit eggy and sour, also a touch of nutmeg.
Pallet: sourdough bread again, vanilla cream and donuts. Also some coffee, the fruitiness from the nose really doesn’t come through. With Water much the same.
Finish: coffee is the main entry here, sourdough and soapy notes too, also a kind of metallic thing going on. With Water no real impact from the water
Mark neat – 8.2, with water – 8.2
I'm not sure how Mr Murray and i would get along, this stuff is definatley interesting, but im not sure about metallic whisky.
