I'm no expert, but it reminded me of one of my favorite bloggers writing about this a while ago:

I get the impression that lead crystal is still around... but I think glasses like crystal Glencairns are all lead-free.

I have a complete cabinet full of lead crystal glasses for all types of drinks and I use them all. In my opinion I've got bigger things to worry about than potential toxic effects.
There's something nostalgic about drinking scotch out of an old-school crystal tumbler that I love.

Yes, I agree. Antique crystal can be attractive. I will toast your continued good health and lack of gout ; )

How common are drinking glasses and liquor decanters with lead in the crystal these days?
I heard that leaded crystal decanters were a problem about one hundred years ago. This got me to thinking about all of my drinking glasses, as well. I don't really use a decanter. I'm mainly thinking of my drinking glasses.
