This is a sample that I got for my birthday last year. Its called "Little peat" and it is a blended whisky consisting of grain and atleast two undisclosed Islay brands. And it is surprisingly good!
Nose
Freshly opened it was a very farmy nose. It smelled like a stable. Not the most complex nose in the world but good intensity. There are acrid medicinal notes. peat and smoke. Also its very vegetal and it has a very fresh quality to it. With a little air it develops grass, ash and something like smoked oysters.
Palate
The palate is quite light but not watery. It gives peat, that kinda acrid medicinal and a hint of sweetness.
Finish
The finish is on the dry side. Tart and a continuation of the palate. Also the horses stables are back!
This probably isn't a "high quality" blend and its actually made for a Company named Vom Fass that I've never heard of before. Regardless it is actually a really decent whisky!
