A nice golden color like a chardonnay or a gewerstraminer. The nose is sweet and bitter, a typical grain whisky. But high quality. Young with these 4 years, but still interesting.
In the mouth: A nice sweetness comes first, then gently caramelized to a touch of spice, wood and a finish of vanilla and slightly vinous. And as a touch of white port. Yes: wood and vanilla in a relatively long finish for such a young grain spirit.
If you love Bushmills or Glengoyne, try this one: it should surprise and delight you. Water does not seem to affect it too much, just a more subdued sugar and buttery, like a Kraft caramel.
A beautiful grain whiskey. I'd love to taste it in version 7 or 8 years of age.
