I really like this single malt. It's smoky and robust but is still very smooth and subdued; it has character and that character is wearing a top hat and monocle, sporting a thick, greased moustache.
I say.
On the nose it's almost burnt lemony.
On the tongue it's like old-fashioned toffee seared in a pan over a wood fire.
It goes down straight very easily, as I mentioned it's smooth yet has a sparkle of elegant bravado that fades behind the crimson curtain after taking a bow to the applause; in layman's terms it has a frisky bite but it's still very tame in the throat, and it wears off in mere moments making this a delicious sipping scotch, ice not required.
Personally I am turned off by very strong whiskies, so this is right up my alley and I enjoy it a lot. I got it for $67 CAD and change in Ontario.
