Spirit of Hven

West coast Swedes are more Danish than Swedish - louder, more opinionated, and friendlier. You need to take the ferry from Landskrona the 30 minutes to the fantastic, relaxing, tranquill and beautiful 4.5 Km island of Hven. At the far end is "Spirit of Hven" a destilleri in a 4 star hotel. Both Camilla and Henrik, and the team too, are kind, generous and patient. What an amazing place - Aquavits, Rums, Gins and a 4 year old whisky. Henrik is a biochemical analytical chemist and micromanages his production. It is the best 4 year old whisky imaginable. In 6 years ..... my goodness me what a stonking show-stopper. Some honey, apple, turpine, liquorice notes. Complex, oily and so smooth for one so young !! Well gone Spirit of Hven you will certainly make Mackmyra take notes !
