Nose: Somewhat closed and uncomplicated with banana and custard notes playing hide and seek.
Palate: Light body with BIG surge of oak which drowns out initial barley sweetness. Spices late. A bit hot. Chewy.
Finish: Fairly long with tannins and spice predominating. Warming.
This is an uneven whisky with too much oak. It does improve with exposure to air and a wee bit of water.
