I noticed this a couple of days ago, having already got my pre-sale tickets for The Whisky Show on the 29th October. The line coming from TWE is that they wanted to take things to a higher level and felt that to do that with the show they would have to split with TWS. Interesting, there must be an underlying reason or two behind the split, but it means an extra tasting show to attend so i guess as drinkers we shouldnt complain too much!
I'll probably attend both. already got my TWS ticket, and on pay day will hopefully be able to get a ticket for TWE show.

Please be assured that The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show will shortly be announcing our line-up - we have several confirmed exhibitors already, and most if not all of the big names will be at our Show.

@Jeffster Why isn't Graham on here telling us himself? Why isn't he even saying this on his own site? Currently the TWS site is dead and rerdirects to a cookbook site. I'm considering seeking a refund. That's not to say my money would automatically go to TWE. The show was really good last year but at least one or both TWE and/or TWS are being unprofessional and I want to know more before I trust either.

Graham is trying to charge me a £10 admin fee for my refund even though he advertised a show that he cannot deliver. Not impressed at all. The line ups don't match up well to the new show and I'm hearing that some of the smaller companies cannot afford to do both shows and are choosing the new one. I'm sorry that this situation has happened but people haven't been responsible with their advertising

It would seem as though Graeme is thinking of moving his Whisky Show to Scotland either this year or next, which for me is a bit of a stretch! I've emailed him and had a confirmation that he's thinking of it, and i've said i'll be after a refund if he moved it this year! May just get a refund anyway, he's not been entirely open and clear it would seem through the whole process.

@Alanjp I agree. I was planning a special trip to London from Ontario with my girlfriend and now this uncertainty is certainly making me a little wary. I am very very thankful for this discussion though because without it I wouldn't have had any idea what was going on.

I have now decided to cancel my order and get a refund from Graeme, i did this about 3 weeks ago but still havent got my money back so i'm chasing him up at present.
With that in mind, @riChchestMat as you have already got a refund, did yours come through RBS WorldPay as we paid through them, or did it come direct from Graemes company?

Have heard that the two organisers of the London Whisky Show have parted and that it appears that there will be two show in London. Having purchased a pair of tickets, I was a bit concerned so e-mailed Graeme the event organiser. Here's his response:
We have not changed the dates for the Whisky Show 2011. They are still 28th & 29th Oct and I see you have two tickets for the Saturday.
Although we have already had over 50% of last years exhibitors commit to this years show, our retail partner - the Whisky Exchange have decided to pull out and I understand plan to run their own event although im not sure who will actually be exhibiting there.
This decision is being viewed as somewhat inconsiderate to our customers as it is causing some confusion but needless to say The Whisky Show 2011 will take place in the same venue and along the same format as last year with some very exciting attractions including the "Master of all Classes". Full details will be announced in due course but it will be a must for Islay fans!
The new official website will be launched in the next few days and regular updates posted there.
I trust this clarifies matters but please get back to me if you have any more questions.
Graeme Event Director
