This Tullibardine is only 5 years old and is also at a cask strength of almost 66%. WTF!? Young and hot, right? Sounds like the title of a second-rate erotic station novel. Belgian bottler Brachadair made a bold choice with this release in my opinion. FYI: it matured on an ex-Koval cask! Koval is that craft distillery in the heart of Chicago, IL, US of A, founded in 2008. Wondering what that will give.
The nose starts pleasantly fruity and even a little sweet on white fruit and pineapple. Big touch of menthol, which gives him a fresh lift.
I thought I should keep a glass of water on hand, but no... It definitely doesn't burn. It's nice and powerful, of course. Fine continuation of the nose with apples, pears and pineapples, supplemented with again a lot of menthol and now also something of sweet chestnuts which makes it slightly bitter. The tannin speaks. But it certainly does not get oaky.
The finish is medium length and a little peppery, as well as gently drying.
It makes me feel really fuzzy inside. Nice, say fascinating Tulli, as far as I'm concerned. Still available for just under 70 EUR.
