BenRiach Single Cask Release 1998 managed to continue my string of good experiences with BenRiach. Well, I've only tasted their special bottlings but I'm starting to believe that I'd like their whole range.
With it's Single Cask Release of 1998, bottled in 2013, BenRiach gives you sophisticated sherry in a butterscotch and fruit mix. The sherry influence is delicate enough for my taste but still it's very much present.
Nose: Definitely the best part. Hints of sherry mixed with fruits and spices with some kind of toast effect. Nice little burning sensation on the back.
Taste: Thick with creamy toffee and hints of exotic fruits with drops of vanilla.
Finish: Sweet and fruity at first with spicy and dry ending.
Balance: Slightly complex but easy to drink and yet again, great craftsmanship by BenRiach.
