This is another cask strength Bowmore, this time with a finish on port pipes. It gives the dram a wonderful dark color. It takes a while for the legs to appear in the glass, but that's not really a big surprise with an ABV of 51,5%.
This time around, the peat is is overpowered by sweet violence in this fantastic nose. Blackberries with a whiff of seasalt. Just great.
The dark fruit returns on the palate, immediately upon delivery. Peat remains the second violin. It has a creamy mouthfeel.
While the finish is not particularly long, it's nice and spicy.
This is really good. Along with the Darkest (sherry cask finish), this is one of my favourite Bowmore's. Despite the high ABV, this one does not need any water at all.
