Nose: Thick body, in my estimation. Decadent sugars and fruits, kiwi, strawberry. Some oak influence, gunny sack.
Palate: Deep, strong, subtle and sumptuous Bordeaux wine, high tundra turf in late summer. Caramel, nougat, red grape skins, red grape stems.
Finish: Delightfully long; bitter oak transforms magically into a complex melange of marshmellows, toffee, and black tea.
This bottle was much more complex than I had anticipated. Serge at Whiskyfun vastly underrated it, giving it a mere 81 points. I don't see how that is possible. The F reminds me of a wonderfully complex winy Springbank and we all know how much Serge loves Springbank!
