These days while watching Democracynow. It helps numb the pain I feel when witnessing the state of the world!!

My favourite way to enjoy whisky is in good company.

I know most people tout the whole sharing with friends aspect... but frankly I don't hang out with friends that often and then most of them don't appreciate whisky. For me, the best thing is the couple hours of the evening after my son goes to bed (I love the guy, but I'm a stay at home dad and I need the quiet time to regenerate each day) - TV off with a good book is ideal, but TV on or a movie works too. Then a nice big pour of a really bold whisky!

When weather is just right and I am grilling a nice steak, I love to take my time and enjoy a few glasses of the good life outdoors. So pleasant.

Also, it's my favorite to spell without the superfluous 'u' :)

I could dream up a slew of situations, but let's face it: any time, any where, with anyone is the perfect time. Because once I take that first sip, all of my thoughts focus on the magnificence, complexity and deliciousness passing through my mouth. It really doesn't matter what's going on around me.

I find myself sipping on a nice whisky after the kids go to bed on a weekend evening enjoying an evening of music/ movies with my wife. A great way to unwind after a long week.

For me, It's in the early evening before dinner with a 'not so wee', wee dram and music: Last week it was the Shirley Horn Collection, this week Kurt Elling's 1619 BROADWAY, tomorrow, Giacomo Gates' new CD. Miles Tones (tomorrow in Aust. the next day in USA. 26th.); "iTunes, no waiting, no delays, hit the button and the PayPal pays". If it's still raining and cool I will open my first bottle of Bruichladdich 'The Laddie10'.
Slainte!

Under the stars under rural skies with my telescope, preferably with a mate who also enjoys a dram!

After I get my kids to bed in the evening, I like to read Joseph Roth on my Ipad, chat with my wife, or play a computer game. As a parent of two young kids, I totally sympathize with valuewhisky even though I spend my week days at an office setting. The weekends can be draining as I try to give my wife some time off.

After dinner on a work day, while playing a video game, usually. When I hop on with my team to play a round of League of Legends, what better thing to do during the respawn timer than to take a nice sip of a fine single malt?
Recently I've been having a dram while farming for items in Path of Exile. Celebrating successful map or boss runs with a sip is great! Two days ago, I was playing while testing the waters of Crown Royal. I hadn't yet had a Canadian whisky, so it was a nice experience. Got a small 375ml bottle to give it a shot, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the flavour. There's very little complexity, but it's a nice drink.
The last way I enjoy my whisky is on Saturday when my friend comes over. We each have a dram or two throughout the day. It's very nice to have a few nice pours over a period of 6-7 hours with a buddy. This usually coincides with gaming as well, actually.

Although it's a daily indulgence, I like to use the whisky as a reward for something. Gives me a bit of incentive. Aside from having completed a good day's work, I may think "If I go to the gym, I'll DESERVE the whisky when I get home." I try to not take it for granted and see it as a treat, ideally by having done something productive or healthy throughout the course of the day.

@cpstecroix Amen.
As noted on another thread, our whisky club met last night.
No matter the whisky or whether it's bad or good. People make the whisky. What fun!!

After a winter activity. Living in Canada, I have access to many snow influenced activities. There is no better feeling than going for a long cross country ski, getting home, hot shower then sitting by the fire with a dram of what I am craving. Usually Lagavulin 16. Did I say no better feeling? I better say it's second to spending time with my wife and son.
When do you most enjoy your whiskey?
Cheers!
