Matured to Refill American and European oak and then 'double matured' on wine barrels.
N: The nose starts a bit timid on white and yellow orchard fruit with some floral notes, chamomile tea and Frosties cereals. Fresh, though. Some icing sugar and LU cookies. In the background the hint of sweet dessert wine. Pleasant! S: It starts out soft and sweet, but quickly develops into hard candy and wine gums, nicely seasoned. The dessert wine is slowly but surely starting to make its mark and I really like it. F: The aftertaste may be a bit on the short side, but it stays peppery warm from the herbs and becomes slightly drying. C: This one easily exceeded my (admittedly, not so high) expectations. This is a very beautiful Glen Ord and after my visit to the distillery and shop in September I will appreciate this malt more and more.
