Matured from a PX puncheon and matured for 22 years.
Nose: there is a soft PX layer initially, underneath it there’s figs, coffee and hazelnut liqueur, sweet tobacco, hints of tea, and a metallic note.
Pallet: very muscular spirit which is all side pallet, starts with dark chocolate and soy sauce, then molasses, rosemary, tobacco and an intriguing balance between tannins and building sweetness.
Finish: maraschino cherries outlast the tannins, then cocoa powder and cedar, a dry finish.
A sherried classic, not 100% sure about the metallic note, thats the only reason its not a 90.
