Haig Dimple 12 year old

I have had the dimple 15yo quite a few times and quite enjoy it so i wanted to get a bottle for my dad for fathers day last year but was a little short on cash that day so i got him the 12yo instead.

Last night he decided to open it and luckily i was there to watch the bombers and pies play(australians will know what i'm talking about) so i got to try it.

nose is sweet with hints of oak but no where near as nice as the 15yo

palate is harsh, hints of caramel and spices and alcohol

Finish is short with spice and not much else.

overall i was very disappointed with this, it lacks the smoothness and sweetness the 15yo has and considering the 15yo is only $5 more expensive its a clear choice which one i will get next time.
