So I sourced this in New York and its still sitting on shelves a little in the USA. Never made it to the UK.
Colour: Darkish getting on to mahogany brown.
Nose: big and rounded. Earthy polished mahogany wood, deep heavy toffee and caramels, meaty slightly smoky corn oils, herbal dill rye, biscuity caramel grains, ginger cake spice, vanilla, touch of sappy fresh oak. Rye and caramels are prominent in this. Little bit of stone fruits, but the caramel is dominating.
Taste: wood forward, polished wood, quite hot, then herbal rye and dill, lots of caramels, spicy, wood tannins, vanilla, green sappy wood. It's quite hot with prominent wood tannins and bitterness. Fairly full bodied in mouthfeel.
Finish: it's a tad astringent, deep caramel, wood spice and slight wood sapiness.
Overall this is very good. Nose is stunning once its had time to sit in the glass, taste a little hot and finish a little astringent although has a decent length. Feels a little younger than its 11 years but nose is so rounded and immense.

I love the KCSB 9yr, this one is a bit pricey though when I have seen it so I haven't pulled the trigger.
