Nose: Bubblegum and tropical fruit sweetness. Pineapple, mango, and candied floss. A little vanilla and malt as well. Seems like the sort of thing that one drizzles on pie or vanilla ice cream. Gooseberries! A wisp of tart fruit and candy away in typical ex-bourbon notes. (with water) more sweetness and sweet vanilla and sugary honey. Less clearly fruity. Still nice.
Palate: Sweet and massively syrupy. Honey and pepper. Some ash and wax from the wood, which becomes bigger and bigger as it goes. Lemon and some fruit as well, maybe some of the same barley and sugar bits as well. (with water) some of the big woodiness is tamed, but about the same.
Finish: This is good, and it has some good things going on. There's a lot of dry wood - well integrated - but if you don't like wood, this may not be your thing. I'd have liked more development and flavors, but it was nice all the same.
