Carn Mor releases its more exclusive casks in the series Celebration of the Cask. This Tamdhu was distilled on 11th February 1991 and bottled on 4th November 2013. It matured for 22 years on a sherry hogshead.
This is a very sweet nose. I am transported to a candy store. Red fruit, strawberry in the lead, fills my nostrils. Some sultanas, blueberries and caramel follow in its tracks. Evolves towards warm marmalade. Mild tannins. Actually quite creamy. Nice!
On the palate I get the feeling of Christmas Cake, with dried raisins and candied pineapple. Mandarins as well. The tannins make it fairly dry, but not so much that it becomes disturbing.
The finish is long and warm, softly spiced and offering the final say to the oak.
Fruity, sherry matured Speysider with a dry edge. I quite liked it.

Great reviews today, Mark! I have a quick question: any reactions to both or either of these two bottles? I'm thinking of acquiring one or both: Bladnoch 19 Signatory Cask Strength; Caperdonich 16 Signatory 1994
