The Whisky Show London 2012

Are you attending on the saturday or Sunday or both!? I am 90% attending on saturday but am just waiting on others to give me their responses . It can sometimes be difficult to book months in advance as you never know what might change in that time. Looking forward to it anyhow! Did you attend last year mike?

@Akkennan I will be going both days. Planning on getting there early and being the last out! LOL I am using the show as a tool to develop my tasting! I was not able to attend last years sadly. Really looking forward to a couple of those "Dream Drams"!

I'll be along both days as I'm one of the organisers :)

@MikeDram yes I will have to do some research to make sure I choose the right dream dram! I think I will try not to leave this tasting too long as the more whiskies I try the less I will be in my best state to appreciate it. Hic!

@cowfish: it's good to have a organiser amongst us! Will bruichladdich be attending as I did not see them on the exhibitors page ? I am very interested to try some of their creations. Also do the smws offer any good membership deals on the day? I have been looking to join but will hold off if they made this.

@Akkennan Bruichladdich aren't confirmed yet - we've got (at least) another two sets of exhibitors to announce and hopefully they will be in the list.

As for the SMWS, they've done some good deals in the past - generally doing some of their bottles for reduced prices with a membership at The Show. And they bring a lot of their whiskies along to sample...

Keep an eye on the website - we should be posting updates more frequently now that things are starting to be finalised. As long as I get time to write the updates...

@YorkshaPud well I will have not only my Whisky Journal, but also my iPad to help me record the day. Plan to taste as many as possible both days and still remain up right and mobile. (LOL) I figure I may not ever have another chance to attend a show like this, so will try to make the most of the time I have.

There's a whole bunch of people from Whisky Squad planning to go along on the Saturday. I'm intending to head down on the Sunday at this stage. Maybe the Saturday too if my resolve snaps.

I'll be down there on the Saturday as i have been for the past 2 years, just waiting for the masterclasses to start being announced as the past 2 times i've been i didnt take any in, and this time i want to at least make one!

@Alanjp I wrote up a couple of teaser pages today for the first couple of classes we'll be announcing. Just waiting on a bit more info and we'll be doing some announcing. Should be sometime in the next week or so...

@MikeDram I suspect there will be a number of bits of tartan on display so I don't think anyone will stare too much :)

There are three more masterclasses to announce - they should appear over the next month as final bits of organisation are finalised. I'm on holiday next week, so it'll be up to someone else to press the 'GO!' button on the website :)

New update on The Whisky Show. Looks like there will be a Posh pre-show dinner held Sept 11th. whisky-show.com/whisky-dinner-at-the-bombay… At 125 quid, I think I may miss this one! LOL

Two course meal designed by Martine Nouet and included in the price of the ticket. I helped shoot the piccies of the dishes and got to try them all - I'm biased, but they're rather good.

There's still more stuff to announce - I've got a big spreadsheet with a list in and everything :)

Just seen this thread and yes I will be there both days. I have been the past 2 years and love the show. Can't wait to go and bringing along some newbies to the show on Saturday. Also on the from Scotland to Japan masterclass and can't wait to try the gold bowmore 1964 and the yamazaki 1984. Really looking forward to the show now!

@cowfish It was a real shame that Bruichladdich weren't there last year, they were sorely missed by me. I spent some time at their stand in 2010, a Bruichladdich virgin at the time, and I've purchased probably a dozen bottles of theirs in the last two years as a direct result of that show. I Guess it's pretty much confirmed that they won't be attending again this year now.

Day one down, what an experience! Spent what must have been 20 mins talking with the Master Blender for Irish Distillers over a dram of Red Breast, two actually. My dream dram choice was Glenmorangie Pride. No where near what I was expecting in taste, but dam happy I chose it for the experience! That's a £3600.00 bottle of scotch there! In all an Awsome experience! Bravo Zulu to Billy and his mates!

@MikeDram I'm on the Show Bottlings stand all day - come by and say hello. I've heard that you gave a great interview for our Show video, I look forward to seeing it :)
