Released June 2017. Bottle #251. Hand-filled at the distillery. 375ml bottle. Cask Strength. Spirit made from Baird's Heavily Peated Distiller's Malt. Aged for 4 years in a first-fill ex-Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel.
Color: Pale straw.
Nose: Slight peach and apricot followed by wet campfire ash, caramel frosting and candle wax.
Palate: Sweet malt, vanilla bean, black pepper, ashy peat smoke.
Finish: Long and spicy.
@bwmccoy Thank you for giving us infos and reviews of Westland. I only had the regular peated expression but I was impressed and find this distillery to be of interest. One day they will release 12 and 16 yo and everybody will praise them but until then, we could be among the few who enjoy their releases.
