One simple question, with, for me, a long answer:
Premium whiskies: Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, Ardbeg Uigeadail, Highland Park 18, Pappy Van Winkle 15 (if I can get it), Old Potrero 18th Century Style (if I can get it), Glenfarclas 15, and William Larue Weller. On the "everyday dram" side: Wild Turkey Rye, George Dickel # 12, Jim Beam Black Label, and Old Pulteney 12.

I'll keep my answer just to bottles that I have tried, and are more easily replaced... Auchentoshan 12, Evan Williams Single Barrel, Lagavulin 16, Talisker 10

Not a simple answer when you need to maintain an adequate selection. Either Van Winkle Family Reserve 13 Rye or Sazerac 18 Yr Rye; Bulleit Bourbon, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, a magnificant bourbon such as Pappy Van Winkle 15, Vintage 17, or Eagle Rare 17; one or more of (Elmer T Lee Single Barrel Bourbon, Jefferson's Reserve Bourbon, Wathen's Sing Barrel Bourbon, Evan Williams Sing Barrel, Van Winkle 12 Lot B Bourbon); Ardbeg 10, Longrow CV, Macallan 12, Glenmorangie Lasanta, Glendronach 15 Revival, Lagavulin 16 or Laphroaig Qtr Cask, Bruichladdich Rocks, Redbreast Irish, Michael Collins Irish, Famous Grouse, Teachers, a lively Highland such as Oban 14 or Clynelish 14, Auchentoshan 3-wood or Bunnahabhain 12, Jura Superstition, and perhaps about 20 more ... :-)

There is no life without the Talisker Distillers Edition... and about every other bottle in my cabinet. Honestly, there are just few whiskies that I do not replenish immediately. Just the rare ones and the not so tasty ones (I try to evade everything with Cardhu written on it).

I would have to start with a bottle of High West Rondezvous Rye, Glenrothes 1985, and Macallan 18. There are certainly many others I enjoy, but these are my stranded on a desert island whiskies.

For me, staples are the young standard bottlings, which in my case means the following:
Laphroaig 10, Talisker 10, Highland Park 12, Springbank 10 & Glenfiddich Solera 15
The rest are not necessarily on a like for like replacement basis, but I do like to keep certain distillers in the cupboard, regardless of who the bottler is, such as Clynelish, Benrinnes, Dailuane and Port Ellen

always try to have a Glenmorangie 10 Original on hand as well as Redbreast 12. Lagavulin 16 squirreled away for those special moments.

I'd say HP12, Talisker 10, Laphraoig QC and either Monkey Shoulder or Sheep Dip

Ardbeg 10 Year, Balvenie 14 Year Caribbean Cask, Laphroaig 10 Year Cask Strength, and Bushmill's 21 Year

I'd have to go along with how @victor breaks it down, premiums and everyday while also keeping in mind to have a wide spectrum of flavor profiles to choose from.
In no particular order, my upper shelf premos I try to keep in stock; Lagavulin16, HP18, Pappy Van Winkle 15, Parker's Heritage Collection (any and all editions), Abraham Bowman BS
Everyday lower shelf; Ancient Ancient Age 10, Jim Beam Black Label, Old Rip Van Winkle 10/107, HP12, Sazerac Rye ("Baby Saz"),.

Balvenie Signature, Old Pulteney 12 and Talisker 10. When I see any of that holy trinity running low, I get anxious, melancholic- and in the car to go and buy some more.

Not the easiest for me as technically I've yet to actually FINISH a bottle. The ones I reckon will be replaced once the last drop rolls out the neck are Talisker 10, Jura Superstition and Aberlour A'Bunah. Of course in reality I'd like to replace practically every one of them, but space constraints mean that would be silly.

I'll restock as soon as they will be empty: Cardhu 12, Jura Superstition and Amrut Single Malt. Most probably also my bottle of Talisker 10.

Must haves, if you ever see them: George T Stagg, Brora 30, Ardbeg Supernova, Lagavulin Distiller's Edition.
Daily Staples: Old Pulteney 12, Laphroaig QC, Templeton Rye, Ardbeg 10, Highland Park 12, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Buffalo Trace, Cardhu, McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt, BenRiach Curiositas.

Hey everyone,
Looking at my collection, I think a heavily sherried Glendronach and a heavily peated Laphroaig should always be at hand (at least for me).

In addition to my previous post, Te Bheag and a wheat bourbon of some sort need to be always in my cabinet.

WL Weller 7 is the only real mainstay in my cabinet, great baseline for my bourbon tastings

Laphroaig quarter cask, Talisker 10, Glenfarclas 15, Highland park 25 and Dailuaine (gm 1994)

Dear malt-friends,
I would like to ask you one simple question:
which whiskies are the ones that you consider staples? I.e. bottles that you absolutely have to replenish as soon as empty, because you can't really do without that particular flavor profile or simply beacuse it's the bottle you most often reach for in your cabinet.
Despite my limited experience, I would have to say that there are two bottles that I recently finished and that I have to absolutely replace in the near future: Lagavulin 16 and Talisker 10.
What would be yours?
Cheers
