@jeanluc , thanks for the replies and everything here.
Is it just me, or does it feel like this update really shook up the community? I always liked Connosr, but it was feeling a little derelict before. Now it feels cool again. I, for one, intend to repay what this site have provided and start posting more reviews. I got a notebook full of them, but I've only ever posted the couple that I thought were amusing.

@Alexsweden Can you email support@connosr.com so we can follow up on your login issue?

@jeanluc,
the new site is brilliant. One feature that did not carry over, and which I dearly miss, is the 100 most popular whiskies.

Will there be a faster rotation of featured reviews on the Frontpage? The former site had the same ones up for a number of years. It would be great fun to see ones own review up there sometime...

@Alexsweden The new algorithm for calculating the 'trending' reviews on the homepage is now in place. This will refresh every day and is based on a number of metrics including recent likes and comments

@talexander We're releasing an update to the cabinet later this week. A couple of things - including the remove function - didn't make it into the initial launch version.

Thanks @Ol_Jas. We promise to have less hipsters in the next clips we add
I think @Pierre is filming our dad having a dram on the beach next.

@jeanluc,
with all due respect to your father, I rather like the hipster in the clips...great taste in whisky and clothes.

We have released an update to the cabinet feature today:
We have also fixed a few issues around cabinet search function:
cc @talexander @Nozinan who both asked about the above earlier in the thread
More updates on the way ...

@jeanluc I wonder if it might be possible to create a search function for reviews within a certain user. For instance if I wanted to see only Auchentoshan reviews by @markjedi1 (well, that would still be a lot but you know what I mean), or OGD 114 by @Victor...

@Nozinan In fact you can use the review index filters to search by review author username too.
One undocumented feature is that you can use the +
and -
operators in your search query. For example markjedi1 +auchentoshan
returns reviews by markjedi1 which mention auchentoshan in the title or bottle name.
markjedi1 +auchentoshan -signatory
returns similar results but excludes reviews containing signatory.

@jeanluc Thank you! I went through and fully updated my cabinet. One bug I noticed is that it is saying I have over 700 whiskies (I actually have between 80 and 90), even though there are not over 700 whiskies in my cabinet.

@talexander I think that the cabinet total includes the archive. I moved a couple of bottles to the archive and the total didn't change either.

Ironically, I think notification is broken for this particular thread. I get notified on updates to all other threads I've participated in (except those I've muted) but not this one. I just muted/unmuted it, so we'll see if that may have kicked it into gear.
I've checked my spam folder, just in case notifications for this thread for some reason would've been filtered away, but no dice.

@Nelom I've had a look in the database entry for your mute preference on this discussion and it looks ok. Also I am getting notifications fine.
Let's see if you get this?
8 years ago 0
@jeanluc I received a "jeanluc mentioned you" notification because of the @ reference, but not one about the thread being updated. Should I have received both?

Nelom – no, otherwise the duplicate notifications would be annoying. I've dropped the @ here deliberately to test.
