Well it looks like e score has changed... Maybe that batch just takes some time to open up...

"Klak" appears to mean "craftiness" in Icelandic hide could refer to the craft presentation of A'Bunadh.
9 years ago 0
Shortest review ever on connosr? Lowest score ever for A'bunadh? Confusing. Perhaps our new member, @marino, could clarify.
9 years ago 0
Doesn't his photo look a bit like a member of the family that owns 'farclas? maybe it's a ploy to raise the profile of the 105...
9 years ago 0
@sorren, your reviews were actually reviews. This one is not a review, but merely a rating...unless "klaek" is a hot link to a real review.

klaek:
noun 1. High-strength sherried Speysider. 2. Any whisky that sends you into spasms of ecstasy.
adj. 1. to ascribe mysteriousness to a whisky, ie. "That Aberlour is so...klaek." 2. to ascribe cult status to a whisky, ie. "Port Ellens are so klaeky."

It's surprising that Mr. marino hasn't replied to clarify his so-called review.

Could be a connosr record for most comments ever for a one word review.
9 years ago 0
This is quickly on its way to becoming one of the most commented on reviews on the site. I guess I should adapt a similar approach when I start adding some review of my own.
9 years ago 0
@mscottydunc. That's fine as long as you are reviewing "klaeky whiskies."
9 years ago 0
@BlueNote Once I figure out what a klaeky whisky is, I will be sure to add some klaeky reviews!
9 years ago 0
I wonder if the reviewer suffers from a majo(r) multiple (online)personality condition generated by the consumption of excessive Klaek.
9 years ago 0
@Nozinan Klaek isn't something you should be making jokes about. You should be ashamed of yourself!
9 years ago 0
How so? The only language I could find for klæk is Icelandic (and our reviewer lists that as location) and it means "craftiness". If you cant joke about craftiness, then how can you joke about brandedness? Though, I admit, branded whiskies like JW RED are about as "un-klæk" as you can get!
9 years ago 0
klæk (n) : the sound made by an inexperienced whisky drinker when he tastes a single malt that is over 59.9%
I looked that up. It's legit.
9 years ago 0
Hey there klæk likers and not. This is so funny and I like your thoughts on this haha. I am new here and I had know idea what I was doing when I started so I tried to put in some text (it wold be the same if the cat walked over the keyboard, but I don´t have a cat) anyway I just SMAKT the keyboard with a few fingers an produces this new "klæk" word for you to analyse. I wil be more to the point in the future I promise.

@marino haha you're a good sport! Welcome to the community.
And if you want any advice on anything I suggest you get hold of @Victor. He's, what we call, the Whisk(e)y Oracle.

I see you've also rid yourself of your multiple personalities (Majo is gone, but not forgotten).
Welcome to this site. Where the most important thing is to have fun, and discuss "spirit"ual manners.

Hahaha, these comments just made my day! Nice to see we're not taking ourselves to seriously. Sláinte!

Hello @marino. I'm glad you have not taken offence to our little bit of fun here. Welcome aboard. Cheers.

It is so good when such a random thing makes you smile. All your comment made me smile anyway, thank you. Lets say something intelligent about Aberlour A'bunadh besides "klæk". I love this Whisky, sherry, vanilla, hint of wood, exelent balance, I likes a litle whater in it, afteral 59,5% ABV. Sláinte mhaith!

Welcome @marino. What batch number did you taste for this review? My personal favourite that I have tried is batch 49.
Cheers!
9 years ago 0
@marino, just a thought...if you really like this whisky and gave it an 80..... which whiskies do you like that merit a 90?
9 years ago 0
@mscottydunc, same bathc number very nice. @Nozinan you are correct I wold geive this something like 83 I think but I wold give 90-93 to Lagavulin 16 year old, Port Charlotte PC12 and Octomore 5,1, what can I say, I love peated whiskys
9 years ago 0
@marino, no longer a mystery is your score. It makes perfect sense to me why A'bunadh rates no better than 83 in your books - PEAT, or lack thereof.
Thanks for creating such a buzz.
Check your buddy requests, you probably have some messages awaiting your response.
Cheers!

By the way - if you want to link to an image in a comment here is the code, try not to link to huge images which will slow the page down :)

Hey Jean-Luc Maybe you should order some of those t-shirts, and all Connosr members can have one.....something like a club t-shirt. Boy this reminds me of the Hash red dress run... (if any of you are hashers you should know the story)
9 years ago 0
This is so much fun to see how you can spin this along. now I am working on setting up a podcast in Icelandic and I think I will call it "The Klæk Whisky Nerd" in Icelandic of course (Klæk Viskí nördinn), so my question to you Jean-Luc can I use your picture of the t-shirt?
9 years ago 0
@Jean-Luc, perhaps @marino should sign a non-compete first, you wouldn't want to get klaeked....do the shirts come in assorted colours?
9 years ago 0
@paddockjudge...any colour you want, all you need is a computer and skill...
9 years ago 0
Thank you @Jean-Luc, I like the yellow @Noxinan.
I am working on my first whisky podcast episode and guess what it will be about Whisky Connosr, this discussion here and why I named my podcast Klæk You can see how it looks here "http://whisky.podbean.com/" it is in Icelandic so not many of you will understand it. Sláinte mhaith!

Based on the definitions provided by @talexander, would it be safe to say that Old Grand Dad 114 is 'klaeky'. :)
8 years ago 0
I would think by both of his noun and adjective definitions #2. obviously not #s 1. It's neither sherried nor a speysider.
8 years ago 0
And not too mysterious. Just tasty...really tasty... especially after a few minutes of air.
Darnit...want some now but I'm on call. Someone have a dram for me please...
8 years ago 0
@Nozinan...yes, I did think that adjective def. #2 fit the bill for OGD 114.
8 years ago 0
@mscottydunc...good man! I had a wee pour of klaek #47 after adding my two cents to this review last night. :)
8 years ago 0
Looking forward to Klaek 47 in a couple of months when I turn 47.
I have a bottle of Klaek 44 that I'm hoping to use to celebrate being elected to the 44th parliament (missed out on opening the 42 for that reason) in 2 elections...that would be REALLY KLAEK!
8 years ago 0
Sorry Noz, I don't have an A'Bunadh open just now, but I'm dedicating this particularly Klaeky Uigeadail that I'm currently sipping on to you. Cheers.

Hmmm, something seems off with this review.....
