It is for sure my bottle of Highland Park Earl Magnus First Edition! I also like the trio of Glenmorangie that is Sonnalta PX, Finealta and Artein. Still don't know when I'll open one of these bottles.

I have a cask strength one-off Hungarian White Oak Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Snowflake. It is the only one of it's kind in the world. Here is how it happened: Jake Norris, Head Distiller at the time, was building a Snowflake by finish-ageing a two-year-old Stranahan's in a Hungarian White Oak white wine barrel. After a length of time in that barrel, Jake nosed a sample and found that he had created a fantastically lush and complex whiskey with notes of apricot and citrus balanced against vanilla and creamy pipe tobacco.

We dumped the barrel and brought it to proof--he had to get to 47%, Stranahan's is always sold at 94 proof (so far)--and after the whiskey was brought to proof, the magic was gone. Before that took place though, the Master had graced me with a full, unlabeled, unfiltered bottle pulled straight out of the barrel with a whiskey thief. Every now and then I have a drop, but I'll never have a whiskey as unique again--hand bottled right in front of me by my friend, a one-off bottle from one of the world's great whiskies.

@SquidgyAsh Come to Colorado, my friend. I share. And I'll give you the dollar tour of the distillery while you're here.

@Charlie-Davis Next time I'm in the US I'll be sure to try and swing through Colorado. I'd LOVE to take the tour of Stranahans. One of my favorite American distilleries! I always get their facebook tour photos and it looks like a blast!

My biggest pride at the moment is my bottle of Johnnie Walker Extra Special Old Scotch Whisky Black Label, bottled in the 1970s. My son and I were out the other day, I came across it in a bazaar being held at a local shrine. I picked it up for 1000¥ (about $10 Canadian), great buy and I was with my son!

I wanted to upload several images but the forum does not allow me posting a new discussion - the reason I came to this forum was my wish to find out more about a bottle that has been in my father's cabinet since 1984 - I tried searching online and thought maybe the forum would be more precise to tell me anything about the Hill Thomson & Co LTD "Something Special De Luxe Scotch Whiskey" whisky? This came as a present from Scotland quite a while, and I wonder if this is worthy of being opened earlier than my marriage (the initial condition set upon receival of it). I was not successful with www.wikipedia.org ...

For me its a tossup between two bottles, a 27 YO Willett (believed to be a Stizel Weller)...I went thru one bottle but have one remaining on the shelf... and.... a Van Winkle Family Reserve bourbon distilled 1970 and bottled in 1984 .... the bottle was sealed with dripping red wax....heard that Julian received a cease and desist letter from MM for that one.

The Beisht is an amazing scotch. I'm quite sad that I finished off my bottle. I tried to hold back for as long as possible, but in the end I just couldn't resist tasting every last drop.

My Lagavulin 1991 DE is my pride and joy , it was the whisky that opened my eyes to what whisky can be. Also my bottles of George T Stagg 2012 are right up there.

I my cabinet I would have to say either the Talisker 18 or my Ardbeg Galileo. Just because of the fact that I cannot get either of these fine products where I live and they needed to be brought over from the UK. Once I have a replacement for the Talisker 18 that baby will be cracked open as for the Galileo I'm not sure yet.
