I just picked up my Kelpie as well :)
My latest shiny acquisition is the FEW Delilah's – one day I'll make it to Chicago to actually drink in the bar. I think Paul Hletko from FEW owes me a couple of drinks as well...

@paddockjudge Barrel Proof? At such a low ABV? Fascinating! It must have a lot of flavour displacing the alcohol...

Well done on getting 4 bottles, I was late getting up due to shift pattern and although was on site within 2 hours of getting the email about the release it was sold out.

@Pete1969
There's always the general release edition so all is not lost.

When I was in Ottawa a couple of weeks ago I saw this new Canadian whisky by Sazerac called High River. I couldn't find anything about it online at the time, so I didn't feel like taking the chance. When I came home I asked around some and eventually heard back from Sazerac, who provided a little bit of information. Most of it was marketing-speak, but I do know it's a rye, corn, and barley blend and that it's bottled at Buffalo Trace distillery. From the signature on the label I already knew Drew Mayville had a hand in it.
Anyway, I eventually decided to get a bottle but it wasn't carried by any of the local stores, so I had to place an online order. If you spend over $50 you get free shipping, so I threw in a 375 ml bottle of Bulleit Bourbon as well, as I've never tried it and am curious about it.
As for High River, it has an unmistakably Canadian flavour profile, but it's a little thin. It's somewhat reminiscent of a watered down Gibson's Finest.

@Nelom If you have it shipped to your local LCBO I believe it takes longer but it's free.

This is a little out of the norm for this thread, but when I came upon this gorgeous vintage Four Roses bottle I just had to have it. I love the details in both the bottle and the label. I looked at some of the ads in Al Young's Four Roses book, and it seems this bottle is probably from the Thirties.

@Nelom If it had been full it would be even more interesting...

@Nelom, a beautiful bottle and definitely a conversation piece. Nice find.

@Nozinan True enough. :)
@paddockjudge and @BlueNote Thanks and I agree. I also have a classic, prohibition era Gate bottle in excellent condition. I'm moving soon and will have a study of sorts in the new place, and I'm planning on those two bottles being part of the décor.

I went for a little expedition to Ottawa and grabbed those. My wife bought the Koval in advance for Father's day, so it is now off limits for me. I enjoyed my day pretty much.

@Robert99 Well-scored! I think you've made some great choices. I'm interested in hearing how the Koval is...I've never tried oat whisky.

@Nozinan I am sure will have the opportunity to taste oat whiskey in the next six months.
