Penderyn Aur Cymru, which does not have an age statement but a release date of July 08. It was in 2008 when Malt advocate awarded Penderyn 'Micro distllery of the year, in 2009's Whiskey Bible Jim Murry called it 'a prince of a Welsh Whisky"
Matured in bourbon barrels (usually Buffalo Trace or Evan Williams), finished in rich Madeira wine casks.
It’s a light whisky, with a creamy toffee sweetness, zesty fruit with some Vanilla to finish
This Dram may be lacks a little depth for a scotch drinker, can seem a little medicinal, has a sight acholic burn that might not be to everyones taste, but I think we can assume this down to the relative youth. This is and ideal post-dinner dram
I look forward to day when this distillery produces an aged expression.
