The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (with a profile right here on Connosr!) chose this refill bourbon barrel, containing Rosebank that was put to sleep in July 1991. They bottled it at age 18 and gave it the apt name 'Dressed to Impress', together with the numeric code '25.54', the 25 referring to the distillery in the Lowlands. Whoa, what a nose! Quite buttery with a truckload of citrus: lime & grapefruit. But equally prominent are the rose petals, lavender, eucalyptus and Turkish delight. The whole is sprinkled with icing sugar. Sweet, sweeter, sweetest! Wonderfully drinkable, despite the relatively high ABV, with lime and grapefruit returning in full force, bolstered with a slight wood touch (without becoming oaky) and mild spices. This Lowland Lady (with capital 'L'!) strides confidently down the catwalk on high heels, basking in the admiring glances (or in this case, tastebuds). The finish is a long as her stilettos are high. Warm, intense and sensual! This is a femme fatale! Was £77, but is now long gone. Best Rosebank I've tried so far. A big thank you to JL for the sample!
