A 750yen bottle of Torys by Suntory, probably the cheapest Japanese whisky around. Tastes like sweet nail varnish remover neat but add some ice and soda water and you have something that is just about drinkable if not a little salty?

Really digging my Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof Bottled in Bond. Floral/herbal, dry and complex and impossibly good considering the $15 price tag.

I am just starting to get into the Single Malt Scotch scene. I am having a Talisker 10 year old right now. Delightful.

This week, I'm trying some St Magdalene, from the closed Lowland distillery. I'll be trying the 1970 Rare Malts expression and two indies: an Old Malt Cask from Douglas Laing and a Blackadder Raw Cask. Be on the lookout for the reviews.

Right now I'm having a Glenfiddich 15 year , but after reading luccadanna's post, I think I'll follow it up with a Laphroig Quarter cask ... that really is an amazing dram.

@ lebudfrumhull: well done, it's amazing!

I've done this a few times and it turns out surprisingly good ... 2/3 12 year Glen Elgin + 1/3 GlenGoyne 12 year Cask strength + a small dollop of water. I have a hard time drinking the GlenGoyne on it's own... I find it's really rough around the edges.

Tonight, I'm finishing off my Kilbeggan 15 Year Old. Smooth and easy drinking for a quiet night in front of the telly with the missus.

A glass of TWE 10th Glenglassaugh 1978....ok so not quite as beautiful as the Linkwood or Clynelish in the same series but still lovely.

It's a chilly evening here, and I just cracked my bottle of George T. Stagg (2009 release). I'm very glad I did.

I have been tasting Auchentoshan 3-Wood for the past few days. This is such a wonderfully smooth and deeply tasty sheeried whisky, that I consider it a perfect whisky to introduce others to single malts. It has also joined my single-malt-inner-circle :-)

Im drinking this new whiskey i just got.

Big Peat by Douglas Laing & Co. Its an Islay blended (vatted) malt, with malts distilled at Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen.

Its pretty damn good!
