I have been flirting with this bottle for a while. Each time I was just about to buy it I was side tracked by another purchase. Finally getting my hands on a bottle is a good feeling which was made even sweeter by the price.
Amber colour in the glass the nose is thick and fruity. Sweet, light oak, dry spices, heavy sherry and slightly floral.
Soft and slightly spiced. More waves of dark juicy fruits, stewed plum and apples crumble.
Finish is good, medium/long, sweet, juicy slowly fading and making way to a gentle fading spice.
This is a very solid bottle for its money. It is not overly complex but what it does it does well. The soft mouth feel works well and it would be an ideal companion for an open fire. I would like to have seen it kicked up to 43% ABV but it works well at 40% so for the money I have no complaints.

Tjb you're experiences with this whisky mirror my own. I've been meaning to get this for months but, like you, there's always been another one on my radar. However if its as good as you make out I'm definitely going to take the plunge and buy it. By the way could you please let me know if your Yamazki Distillers Edition has improved with some time and more air in the bottle.
