I love whisk(e)y because it's the closest thing to 20th century literature, in the sense that there's a lot of tension and elasticity between the hard and soft. This spirit moves in such a way like a short story or a measure of a song, where the peppercorn spices can climax and hit the nasal cavity, but the flavours can quickly recede and pull back into this wonderful denoument, this kind of resolution that rolls around the tongue in a "rubato" like fashion that resists 4-4 time to bring elation to the brain. To me, when I approach a whisky and I have it neat, with 2 drops of water or with even different types of ice cubes, such as an ice cube being crafted by a Kold Draft machine, all of these extraneous factors are a representation of approaching it from Reader's Response Theory, Hermeneutic's Perspective, Post-Colonialism, etc. Moreover, the beauty of this spirit is that the magic of synesthesia forces the imbiber to utilize all of one's senses; thus, whisk(e)y is personified. If you trust it and open up to it, you'll learn that you can scratch below the lithosphere of this spirit and it will change and develop as you will as well.
I hope I can meet as many whisky enthusiasts here! Thank you for contacting me! :D Also, I'm here to learn, so please feel free to correct me anytime! :D
