@casualtorture, you should have seen Hong Kong under the British. It was absolutely the most interesting and bustling place on earth I have seen, with no close second. I am very curious how much of that life still exists under the PRC.

@Nozinan, that Hong Kong subtropical climate is sticky. I'd choose a cool season to visit. I expect that the last 37 years has led to increased air pollution there compared to what I saw, which, in late November/early December 1980, was almost none.

@Nozinan HK is not nearly polluted as mainland. Mainland is like living in a war zone where you can't see 100meters in front of you.

@Victor The PRC influence is being somewhat resisted (thankfully) an they are still allowed free speech and they use it by protesting PRC rule sometimes giving speeches in the street. Honestly I think most of the citizens would rather be British. And they have a strong aversion to mainland (which is completely understandable and justified in my opinion). But thats not a whisky topic so i shall shut up haha.

@casualtorture That may be true in Beijing, but the mountains and rural areas of Xinjiang province are beautiful and clean(ish)
