I've been toying with the idea for getting a fruity, smoky, and subtle peaty blend - Amped Up JW GREEN. The limitation being 120ml combination of these single malts. The base being Linkwood. I've achieved the results I'm looking but, now in the process of taming the smoky peat into a more refined elegant fruit smoke. Which is to say that the peat component easily dominates the malty profile in a blend.

Blending and Barrel-aging Experiment: 700mls of Blended Whisky (at 45.9% ABV) has gone into a 1L barrel that just finished aging a brandy, amaro, and amaretto-based cocktail...

@YakLord Keep us in the loop. Wondering how long you are going to age the new batch? Maybe it can stay in the small barrel for a longer period seeing as how it has been used prior to this experiment. Might make a very tasty dram indeed.

@Jonesz I've used the barrel for a couple other aged cocktails, plus the initial seasoning with cream sherry, so it will probably be good for a two week maturation. Maybe a touch longer.
