As an American I feel like I must defend my people. We do know how to say Glenfiddich, and most other scottish Gaelic names.

Yes that what i said. The talisker 57north is not misleading. Compared to roman numerals such as above

ok how about this:

All in favor of NAS: Stick to NAS Whiskies

All opposed to NAS: Stick to the age stated ones.

Hmm Now which group do u think feels like they're getting the short end of the stick? :)

@Dreambuie Non-NAS gets shafted.... - because the NASers don't care and the NAS stuff is driving up prices of age-stated stuff.

@Nozinan Haha that's ok. We'd rather have one morangie 30 than 6 signets

@jeanluc cheers for the tag in and wow what a read that all was! joy

I've not encountered any issues with the whole XX/20 years confusion but can certainly understand the worry. There are lots of issues atm with NAS being sold at higher prices then previous age statements or "inferior" NAS being sold with fancy packaging and flash marketing to demand a higher price tag.

Personally though I don't mind if it's age statement or NAS as long as it tastes good! Obviously price is a worry and how NAS can push up the price of age statements, that said I find some age statements where overpriced all along for what you got. I suppose it all comes down to taste as to whether you're prepared to pay for it or not. For example Glenlivet Founders Reserve (hated by many) I actually prefer it to the 12 year which I never really took to. I wouldn't go out and buy a bottle of it though joy

My 2 pence on it all - a whisky is worth whatever you think it's worth. If you like something enough to pay £50, £100 or £150+ for it then that's up to you. Not much use if pay £100 for something and then find you don't like it though tired_face
