@Nozinan a very Happy Birthday to you! Thank you for your friendship. As you no doubt recall well we shared an Ashok-presented Amrut seminar on the first night of our acquaintance at Spirit of Toronto 2014. I toast you now with some Amrut Madeira Cask. Happy Birthday!

@Nozinan - Hope you have a great birthday celebration with a dram of an A’bunadh batch that equals your age. If not that, at least your favorite batch of A’bunadh!

Thank you all for the good wishes!
It is a very rare occasion that I actually drink whisky on my birthday, but I can enjoy your drams vicariously.
Yes, @Victor, I do remember the first time we met. And I remember that masterclass very fondly. I still use the Ashok method to get more out of my Amruts, and other whiskies as well. And I have tasted the Madeira cask. It's quite good.
@Timp - Springbank is a great distillery - thank you for tasting the 15 on my behalf. I have a sample (and also, I think, a mini, that I need to review).
@bwmccoy, this is the last batch of A'Bunadh to equal my age (that I own) until I hit the age of 65. Last year I opened the 53 on my birthday because I had someone to share it with. With luck, my brother, and maybe my nephew, will be willing to share the 54 with me on Friday. If not, it can wait for another day.
To @OdysseusUnbound and @paddockjudge, and all those who have reached out privately, thank you again for helping me to celebrate getting one year closer to retirement...

One oversight...for one MORE year I wish a belated Happy Birthday to @Nambeist. When I eventually open that last bottle of mine of Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist I will no doubt think of you fondly. In the meantime I raise a glass of Ardbeg Uigeadail L10 151 in your honour. Mmmm! That is still so good! Especially at 0730 hrs in the morning on a Thursday. Ain't retirement great !!!

Belated happy birthday @Nozinan. Good health and happiness to you and yours for another year and many more.
Sorry, but with millions of people in this country unable to find a family doctor I’m afraid we can’t allow you to retire, ever.

@Nozinan, happy belated birthday! Do let us know if you end up cracking the 54 today. I will be curious to hear your take. I had a batch of the 54 opened back in 2016. I have one last A’Bundah Batch 61. I don’t think I will crack that for some time.
@Victor I wish you the happiest of Birthdays today my friend. I hope you are opening something special for the occasion.
Tonight, I will be toasting both you and @Nozinan with three of my favorite peated and sherried cask strength drams. I try to touch these very rarely as I don’t have any back-ups and they are delightful to me.
Kilkerran Heavily Peated 59.3% 3yo Batch 1. 19/062 20.02.2019 (55% Ex-Bourbon & 45% Ex-Sherry) Longrow 14yo Refill Sherry Cask 57.8% 18/305 Sep 2003 – July 2018 (9000 bottles)
Ledaig 18yo 56.3% Gordon & Macphail 2001 – 2019 (June 20th) Batch 19/067; Refill Sherry Butt; 202 Bottles.
I hope to taste with both of you at some point soon again. Right now I am buried under a mound of grading for the end of my semester. Typically, my head doesn’t come up for air until early May.
Three cheers to you gentlemen.

I didn't realize it was your birthday @Victor. Belated best wishes. I know you like them big and bold, so I'm having a Berry Bros 2008 Tobermory @64.8% ABV in your honour. Cheers.

Happy Birthday @Victor!
In your honour, and also to celebrate my 54th birthday, I did (yes @Nock) crack the A'Bunadh 54. I shared some with my brother and my nephew, and after everyone had gone home (we were 19 for dinner tonight - the Mah Jong was competitive), I actually poured myself a small second glass while my wife and I watched a (admittedly slow...) Korean drama episode. First impressions, at least average for A'Bunadh. Possibly above average. Thanks again @Mancub for grabbing it in London Ontario in 2016 for me.

I warmly thank each and every one of you for your kind birthday greetings.
This is a very Big One for me. Birthday # 70. A big number. Biblical.
What's my reaction to this milestone? I am Laughing Out Loud !!! It still seems every bit as preposterous for me at age 70 to imagine my body being 70 years old as it did when I was 20 years old. But here it is. I do expect the next 70 years to be quite a bit easier than the first 70 were. Yes, I am certain that we are a mere few years away from people being able to maintain their physical bodies for 150+ years comfortably.
How do/will I celebrate this birthday?
I'll go out for some lunch with my two sisters, aged 80 and 78. This will take place in 10-20 days, after my one sister returns to Maryland from her annual 4 months per year in Tucson, Arizona, a week from now.
@Nock, I'd really like to be drinking those three whiskies you are pouring for yourself, with you. Yes, if you love it, the chances are 70% that I will love it too. One day, I hope.
I salute you all, and send you my love.

@Victor - I’ve been out of town for work this week, so I’m late to the party. I hope you had a wonderful 70th birthday, my friend!
We’re having some friends over for dinner and drams later tonight. We will be sure to raise something special in your honor!

@Nozinan You have a point there. Nonetheless, I wouldn't mind having a final drink with you when I'm on my deathbed, something good from that bunker of yours.

@paddockjudge and @talexander have a great day. Will lift a glass of WT Rare Breed in your honour. Doesn't quite match your special personalities but it is a rare breed and higher test than the other drams I have open. Best Jonesz
