@Astroke I noticed that on reddit, It's still strange to me to lump Ardbeg core range products along with he BTAC lottery but who knows what they're sniffing up there in LCBO headquarters.
The Foursquare 12yr old blend is back in stock with a smattering of bottles in a few stores an a Crap ton at Queen's Quay & Whitby?? of all places. Overall almost 600 bottles this time around. I wonder if they'll go as fast this time around.

@Astroke the Corry used to be about $200. I guess they need to compete better with Alberta, where most of the Ardbeg consumed in Ontario comes from...

@cricklewood I was able to get a Foursquare this time around.

@cricklewood Yeah, not sure why Whitby is worthy of 220 bottles, yet anywhere west of Toronto gets nothing, so far.

@cricklewood it did when I lived there about a hundred years ago. And let’s not forget, it’s the home of the world champion Whitby Dunlops.

Is the consensus that the Foursquare is a better rum than the Real McCoy (a recent purchase that is unopened & can likely be returned)?
Recognize that taste is subjective however if all our typing '4Square' then would be foolish not to make the switch.

@JayRain I haven't tasted either but one is bottled at 40% and one at 48% (fot $0.90 more.
With the closest store that has it 30 km away, and a stay at home order effective 1201 am tomorrow, looks like I will not be getting any of this...

@JayRain The LCBO Foursquare is similar to the Premise with a but more omp. It is in my opinion "sweet and rich". I have not tried the Real McCoy 12 but, would vouch for the Foursquare.

@fiddich1980
Thanks fiddich - I had to drop some groceries at my parents and they live about 20 min from the Whitby LCBO so ended up getting a bottle.
Will split 1/2 the Real McCoy & 4Square w my sister so technically 1 bottle combined.
Have to type - very impressive LCBO location.

@fiddich1980 But the Real McCoy 12yr is from Foursquare, but at 40% instead of 48%, and only bourbon cask natured, no sherry casks involved, so not quite the same as the Foursquare OB 12yr...

@YakLord Agree. My point of reference for the LCBO's Foursquare was Foursquare Premise. The Foursquare Premise sat on the LCBO online order system for over a year before it was sold out. Now the Foursquare has become a "hot item". Goes to show, when some individuals start calling it "The Pappy of rum"

@fiddich1980 Did it? I recall it disappearing quite rapidly. But I got my bottle (still yet to be opened) early on, based on a recommendation from a friend in NB, because it had arrived there much earlier. I guess once I had my bottle I didn't pay as much attention.

@YakLord I believe the Premise was in some LCBO locations but the online inventory indicated none in stock. There was definitely an issue with the LCBO online inventory, who would have guessed. I remember when Berry Bros. Caribbean XO (12 year Caroni Rum) had to be discounted to $54 province wide because it sat on the shelves gathering dust. Would not last 5 seconds now at twice that price. Of course I bought 1 and left 3 on the shelf like an idiot.

MASSIVE LCBO lottery online today - for once I did NOT put an order in for every bottle... but I did put down about $3300 worth. Fingers crossed (though I don't know if I'm hoping to win or lose...)

@talexander You've inspired me. I will likely put in for 10 each of Stagg, Handy and Weller, and maybe that $60000 Bowmore.
It's fun and reassuring to play customer when you know you won't really have to fork out the cash...

@talexander I put in for a William Larue Weller, GTS, Pappy 15, and a couple bottles of Weller 12. I’m sure I’ll get absolutely nothing, but that’s life. My order was ONLY $650 or so.

@Nozinan $85,000 Bowmore, but hey who's counting when you're a high roller! I did NOT put in for that one, of course... since I do win occasionally, I thought I'd better play it safe and not tempt the fates.

@talexander I put in a very small order: Stagg, Taylor, and Van Winkle 15...don't expect anything to come of it, though.

@talexander did the LCBO reveal how many bottles of each of the lottery items were available for release?
3 years ago 0
@Victor No, or if they did I have no idea how to find it.

@talexander I didn't even know there was an allocation draw coming up, and I have a Vintages Shop account and have signed up to receive promotional emails, etc.; first I heard about it was your post here...I think I logged in a couple of weeks ago and there was nothing in the Special Offers section, so I didn't check back...

@YakLord That's weird - I think the email went out first thing this morning. Maybe it's in your junk / spam...

@Victor here is the 2019 release amount, probably not much change unless there were some dead barrels, plus the Stagg Jr is not in this one.

It’s nice to get a sense of normalcy amidst the current chaos. I got absolutely nothing from the KGBO lotto. The streak continues.

I have only heard back from about half of my family and friends but so far it's been a 100% success rate.
Sorry , I meant 100% response rate. They have been very good about sending emails to let me know I will be buying nothing...
