Distribution of ratings for this:
Nose: toasty, sweet, and syrupy. Cinnamon and woodsmoke. Baked apple. Vanilla and citrus buried beneath. Sort of like a fruitier version of Knob Creek.
Taste: medium-bodied and initially dry on the tongue. Very oaky with lots of spice, becoming even drier as it spreads across the palate. Mouth-coating and tangy. The initial sweetness is subdued.
Finish: tannic, dry, and lasting.
Balance: the wine and sherry casks add richness to the nose and dry depth to the palate, but otherwise are not very evident. Overall, comes across as a flavourful and oak-laden bourbon. Strong and rich yet quite easy to drink. A nice addition.
